[2001/4/9]The new version of Server-Type Filtering System (SFS 2.0) is now available for free !
The distribution of "Server-type Filtering System (SFS) Version 2.0" is start in April 2001. The functions enhanced in Version 2.0 is:

• Support for new ICRA labelling standard
  In addition to the rating standards such as SafetyOnline and RSACi, SFS Version 2.0 supports ICRA self-rating.
• Support for the maximum 200 sessions
  SFS Version 2.0 supports the maximum 200 sessions from SFS clients (Web browsers). When there are some browsers, each of whom has a screen including some image data, SFS may use sessions according to the number of image data for one client. Therefore, one SFS is considered to be able to suport 40 to 50 clients at the same time in usual.
• Updating cache processing
  SFS cache processing is updated. When executing filtering with cache label (not label bureau), only the harmless sites not registered in label take priority to be processed.
• Effective label delivery server
  The Delivery Server Version 2.0 can compress and deliver hundreds of thousands of labels, which is to be included in SFS cache. And then SFS can effectively receive these labels.
• Displaying managed screens in a tree structure
  "SFS Administrator" and "Access Administrator" were displayed in separate screens in the previous version. SFS Version 2.0 has function to be able to display them in a tree structure so that administrator can easily manage bot h of them.
• Increasing the number of labels to be registered in label bureau
  The number of label data has be increased, and is reach to 600,000 labels in the end fo this March.
• Others
  Improving response of label bureau. Improving operations of Profile Settings Menu and SFS Settings Menu. Enhancing OS to be supported such as Windows 2000 and TurboLinux 6.1. Adding auto-switching function in the occurrence of label bureau's failure.

  The download site shows a way of changing to the SFS 2.0 form SFS 1.0. With download of the SFS 2.0, please download the manual of the changing-way and follow the instruction. As to the functions of SFS 2.0, please see SFS Version 2.0 is distributed in the April 2001.

We have released SFS 2.0 as "Public SFS"on the NMDA server for personal users in dial-up connection. You designate the Public SFS as a proxy on your Web browser and can filtering Websites without downloading the SFS 2.0. Please refer The offer to use software and service.

Server-type Filtering System(SFS) was released, which run as a proxy on a server. You can use SFS's filtering functional ity by setting proxy for pops.pics.enc.or.jp:8180. We distribute SFS to applicants.

The operation of Profile Bureau based on PICS-Rules was started. The Profile Bureau provide SFS users with various templates of profile. "Profile" means a blocking criterion in the SFS.

The Label Bureau software was upgraded to version 2.0. In version 2.0, the following features were added.

*	Label Bureau can deal with label inquiries from SFS in association with other label bureaus. It can also change labels that are described in a rating standard(e.g. SafetyOnline) into labels that are described in another rating standard(e.g. RSACi) and return the new labels to SFS. (SafetyOnline is a provisional rating standard created by Information-technology Promotion Agency and New Media Development Association.)
*	You can use Label Bureau on Content Adviser of Microsoft's Internet Explorer 4.x or 5.x.
*	Label Bureau is also available to other RSACi-enabled filtering software.
